Middle Class jobs are being replaced by tradesmen and construction

Define job? A job is a regular activity performed in exchange for payment. A person usually begins a job by becoming an employee, volunteering, or starting a business. The duration of a job may range from an hour (in the case of odd jobs) to a lifetime (in the case of some judges).

What is the true difference between career, profession and trade? If a person is trained for a certain type of job, they may have a profession. But these are normally attained through school and college. College has always been hard for the middle class and isn’t getting any easier. Tuition and government grants only go to the best book smart among the youth and maybe even harder to attain if the institute has to meet racial goals. The term profession is usually meant as middle to upper-class as Wikipedia “those practiced on the basis of relevant professional qualifications in a personal, responsible and professionally independent capacity by those providing intellectual and conceptual services in the interest of the client and the public”

But the Wikipedia definition of career is
Career is also frequently understood to relate to the working aspects of an individual’s life e.g. as in career woman. A third way in which the term career is used to describe an occupation or a profession that usually involves special training or formal education,[1] and is considered to be a person’s lifework.[2] In this case “a career” is seen as a sequence of related jobs usually pursued within a single industry or sector e.g. “a career in education” or “a career in the building trade”.

The term trade comes from trading that was done since before we had money to use as a trading mechanism and we now refer to as bartering. When our ancestors started to specialize in smaller portion and teaching their kids or taking apprentices then it got distilled down to teaching a trade. In the modern days we usually refer to this only for skilled trades such as Electrical, plumbing, A/C Heat, specialized construction (framers, drywallers, masons, or installers of flooring windows, doors glass and glazing, etc.

While many middle class jobs are being devoured by technology Secretaries from advanced phone systems, accountants by software, cashiers by do it yourself lines and even waitresses from take your order tables. The main reason is businesses have to be competitive to attract investors and customers. there is one stable job study. This goes back to the middle ages ever since man became organized and started civilization there has been a need for craftsmen and builders. This was always taught through apprenticeship. An apprentice may go to school part time learning the technical aspect behind there trade or jump full in with a company who are known to teach their employees the trade..

Getting a first job is an important rite of passage in many cultures. Youth may start by doing household work, odd jobs, or working for a family business. In many countries, school children get summer jobs during the longer summer vacation. Students enrolled in higher education can apply for internships.

Résumés summarize a person’s education and job experience for potential employers. Employers read job candidate résumés to decide who to interview for an open position.
The expression day job is often used for a job one works in to make ends meet while performing low-paying (or non-paying) work in their preferred vocation. Archetypical examples of this are the woman who works as a waitress (her day job) while she tries to become an actress, and the professional athlete who works as a laborer in the off season because he is currently only able to make the roster of a semi-professional team.

Let’s not forget most of the older names such as Smith and Miller came from such trades. Smith could have been Blacksmiths where Millers actually made flour. May of these were lost through wars and migrations where many were named after the country they came from or city.

It is my belief that though the trades aren’t the oldest profession they do stand the test of time and are and will always be the hardest to assimilate by technology. I believe we will see a return to skilled trades as the other jobs are quickly made obsolete. My advice is keep your eye on technology as it is not always your friend. There is a cost to advancement and it may be your job.
